Claudio Hail

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at UC Berkeley. In my research, I explore the fascinating interplay between light and matter at the nanoscale, seeking to unlock innovative solutions for tomorrow’s technologies in the areas of manufacturing, sensing and energy. Outside the lab, I like playing ice hockey, running, martial arts, and long distance through hiking.
